Finally finished

The retro style tile look was the most fun thing ever. I think I need wallpaper like this. I'll take a better picture after this is installed.

A little square

So my co worker wanted a little painting to take back to Florida with him. I made him this little painting that is a study for a much larger piece...But now I want to keep it. :-P

A bit retro...

So I decided on mellow yellow for the smaller canvases. I hated it at first but they are growing on me. Now all I need is to do the patterning on them and put in my flowers and finish the fence. Phew!

Moving forward...I hope

So I'm still fiddling with the colors for the smaller canvases. I would like them to have the effect of Grandma's kitchen tile. The strip located under the window that is above the sink that faces the backyard.

Time for new stuff...

So I've got some mad nostalgia going on at the moment. This current work will be based on memories of the great out doors. I want the viewer to feel as if they are standing at a fence in someone's backyard in like..Kansas. Or somewhere with kindof flat land. The kind that meets the horizon and looks as if it goes on forever. There's a story brewin' here...

Cha Ching!

I just sold my toad flax triptych (that would be the three big pastel drawings with the blue background and white and yellow flowers) for 2800 dollars! wOOt! Perhaps I'll go on a holiday. An excursion through the French countryside.

New Works in Progress

These are 2 parts to a 10 part oil pastel on stretched canvas piece that I am working on...These flowers and called ranunculus..ranunculus-eses? Well anywhoo, they're kinda foofy like can can skirts...you know the ones...if not, I have provided a link to further your can can education.

One more from the show

So most of the work in my thesis show was acrylic paintings. The larger works (with the exception of the large landscape) were chalk pastel.

The Tower Garden

So this is the commission I did my last semester of school for ITC Transmissions. They just built a new headquarters and wanted art for each of the five floors so the seniors of the fine arts department gave presentations on what they wanted to do and the company chose who they wanted for the project. Compensation:5 g's. W00T.

Thesis Show @ CCS

So these are photos from my thesis show. It's just the four walls right now, detail pictures are coming. What I wanted to do was create a room full of happy so in came the flowers and out came the cake. The general response was "Ohhhh it's so bright and happy!...What? that huge landscape isn't for sale?!?!? Well boo on that let's get outta here!" to which I said, well excuse me if it was already sold! ITC was nice enough to let me borrow it for my show so boo on you guys for booing. BOOOOOO. Heh...Yah

Welcome Everyone!

Well I hate to admit it but I have jumped on the blog band wagon. Apparently it's the more user friendly online portfolio maker. I'll be uploading pictures from my thesis show at CCS and some new work and news and perhaps...jokes! Check back once in a while and I guarantee there will be some giggles in it for everyone. Well unless they're all too grown up to giggle at a fart joke...whatever, cheers!
